Buntings started, as all good ideas, from a simple acorn of a thought. I like good food and like Wallace (of Wallace & Gromit fame) I am very fond of a nice piece of cheese. I was brought up around dairy, my father was a dairy man all his working life and I can still see him making butter in the kitchen from excess cream. This has given me a life long interest in real food with real taste and that is what we wanted to bring with Buntings

We, that is Susan and Ray, first moved to Thrapston in 2002 from the North East of England. For those who don't know Thrapston is a market town in Northamptonshire on the banks of the river Nene. The town has fine wooded walks, lakes and wildlife you feel you can touch. While the area has many qualities we found that there are a few things missing, one of which was a deli offering good quality products. After complaining about what was missing we had a choice, move or open a deli ourselves. So a deli it was.
